Let’s design you a beautiful, zoom ready home office.
Working on your laptop on the bed isn’t going to cut it long term.
The global pandemic has many of us now working from home full time. Since most of us are not able to go to our brick & mortar offices for the unforeseeable future, it has become important to create a suitable office space at home.
I am here to help you reconfigure your space to include a proper home office that both serves your needs and makes you happy. I will take your existing space and recreate it with new colors, furniture, finishes and equipment, as well as intention and boundaries. In addition to that, my focus on wellness will bring even more value to your new home office, as I include work-wellness coaching. Let’s get your work space dialed in.
Create a home office in any space
Whatever you have, I will work with it. You may have an entire room you can empty out and design your new home office in. Or you have a room where you can carve out a corner or take half the room and create a workable setup. You may have a garage that is perfect for a new home office. Or you have a large budget and you can install a small shipping container in the backyard. Whatever it is, I can work with it and conceptualize a functioning home office that delights you.
Zoom ready setup
As a designer who has spent over 20 years in technology working in corporate offices such as Google and Wells Fargo, I understand fundamentals of connectivity and the importance of having a great computer setup and an effective presentation space. Being “zoom-ready” is a part of having a great home office. Whether you use Zoom, Google Meet, Skype or Face time, you need a setup that includes professional lighting and background that also reflects your personality. This is included in my service.
Work wellness coaching
It can be challenging to work from home for many of us. Distractions vie for our attention. We are challenged with keeping family from invading the work space, trying not to get distracted with errands. I can help you establish boundaries that separate work life from home life, as well as develop healthy habits that support your sense of well-being, physical health, and stress load while working from home. Designing a functional home office perfect for you will support these new healthy habits.
Process
Intro call - we will start with a 30 minute call to see if it is a good fit for you.
Discovery call - a one-hour call to get an idea what you envision for your new home office.
Intake Form - I’ll send a form for you to document your existing space and make some general preferences for your new space
First Design Round - I will create 2-3 designs for you to choose from
Review and iteration - we will connect and review the designs, then fine-tune the layouts to a final design
Final Design and sign-off - You will sign off on final design
Deliverables sent - I will send deliverables via email. (See below for details)
Installation and Completion - I can supervise installation via Zoom, or if approved, do part or all of the installation myself.
Deliverables
Because we are social distancing and I would be unable to conduct an in-person inspection, interview, or review, the deliverables will be in a digital format and there will be a DIY element to the project. I will make it as smooth as possible for you, and leave you with as little work as is possible while observing social distancing.
You will receive:
Renderings of your finished home office
layouts of the room’s new design
A list of products ready for purchase, with links to their product page. Optional one-click purchasing approval (for a fee).
Detailed, step-by-step instructions for how to create the space
We will also have a project post-mortem meeting to make sure you are happy with your new home office.
Timing
The shortest turnaround time for a small home office would be approximately 10 - 14 business days. That said, all projects have their own timeline and are dependent on frequency and quality of communication, the time it takes to make decisions and selections, and logistics that are out of our control, such as product ordering & delivery and service providers’ timing.
For example, it could conceivably happen that we would have both calls on Monday, I design Tuesday and Wednesday, we review designs on Thursday, and by Friday I would have a final design for you. This is when everything goes smoothly and quickly and there are no bumps or issues to address. At that point, the purchasing and installation would happen, which would entail the purchasing and application of wall paint, placing product orders, transit times, and unboxing / assembly of furniture and other items. This is unknown, so a concrete timeline can’t be placed on that, and understanding this will be an important part of setting your expectations. At all times throughout the life of the project, I will supervise and ensure that the process moves along as quickly as is reasonably possible.
Pricing
I will do my best to develop a budget-happy design solution for you. We will discuss your budget for purchased items, and painting and installation services. This will be separate from my design fee. Below are three options to choose from, depending on your needs.
I am always happy to discuss price or payment plans that work for you, and answer any questions you may have.Let’s have a conversation!
