Quick camping trip among the Sequoias

I was supposed to volunteer doing trail maintenance this weekend, but it was cancelled due to unfavorable conditions, so I made last minute arrangements to visit Sequoia National Park instead. My campsite was not ideal and on Friday night, it got so loud and hectic and not peaceful that I packed up my things and went home. But I did get a few hours in on Thursday and Friday, and got a few snapshots.

On Thursday I visited the General Sherman tree and took a short hike on the Congress Trail, then drove a few hours to my campsite in the Sequoia National Forest. Then on Friday I went to the top of Dome Rock, which had spectacular views, and then the Trail of 100 Giants. It was neat, but way too people-y for me. I got back to my campsite, wrote a bit, had some noodles, and then the weekend crew came rolling in, all 7 trucks full of families, ready to party. So that’s when my little holiday ended. A 6 hour drive home, and I was at peace again.
